Over and Out!

I'm heading to 'the country' for 24 hours of much needed R&R. Hubby is swanning around London (lucky boy!) so I'm taking this opportunity to visit a part of rural Auckland that I haven't been to before. I'll leave you with this fabulous camping wedding that I saw over on Once Wed. I really REALLY want to go camping this summer! - do you think anyone would mind if I wore a pretty dress like this!

Wedding Style Guide Issue 12

I was so excited to receive my copy of the latest issue of Wedding Style Guide over the weekend (my favourite magazine as some of you may know from my gushing on this post!). We are so VERY lucky, not to mention honoured to have had 3 - gulp, 3! - of our newest designs from the Signature Collection featured in this issue, and our Beaulieu Design is also on the front of their webpage. Once again this issue is FULL of inspiring, stunningly beautiful real weddings, not to mention interviews and advise from the best in the industry - not just in Australia, but worldwide. Go check it out.

Board#16: Yellow & Black

I've been having a bit of a love affair with yellow for the past year. I just can't get enough of it and I love it with so many different colours. Today I'm featuring it mostly with black which looks so striking. I'd tend to throw a bit more grey in there as well - I generally prefer three colours, or at least two variations of a shade. I imagine a funky urban location for this wedding, although saying that, with those fabulous gumboots you'd be right at home in a big ol' country barn!

I'd like to think this would brighten up your Monday morning but if you're anywhere near where I am that won't be happening! It's miserable looking out there. Daylight savings may have begun but what spring? Perhaps next week?

Real Wedding: Kylie & Simon Part IV

Ok so perhaps 4 parts to this may seem a little excessive but I just couldn't ignore all the gorgeousness in front of me! One of the loveliest touches to Kylie & Simon's wedding were the photo boards Kylie made featuring photos from their families wedding days, and they also displayed some of their original wedding garments to add a touch of nostalgia. How sweet is that?

For those of you wondering about Kylie's stunning dress, it was created for her by J'Aton Couture in Melbourne.

Real Wedding: Kylie & Simon Part III

Today's stunning feature which was held at Peregrine Winery in the beautiful South Island was a long time in the planning, but the end result was sooo worth it. Kylie & Simon even had cocktails mixed especially for them, and created a menu with fun names to match like Groomzilla, Queen of Hearts, and Tying the Knot. The stationery was all designed by Ruby & Willow in a petrol colour to tie in with the decor; from the wishing well tags, to menus that were wrapped with feathers and ribbon, there were heartfelt quotes throughout. The catering was provided by White Tie, who Kylie assures me were absolutley amazing, and if the photos of the food are anything to go by, tasted sensational.

Real Wedding: Kylie & Simon Part II

My plans to get the remainder of this wedding up yesterday were scuppered by no internet!! Yes that's right, NO INTERNET. How did we ever survive without this technology!! And to top it off phonelines were down for a while too....due to an incident! Anyway hope that incident wasn't anything too serious. Now onto prettier, nicer, happier things!

The photographer for this fabulous wedding, Johannes van Kan, was faced with quite the challenge on the day. Despite being held over what should be one of the sunniest months of our summer, the weather on the day was inclement to say the least! But as you can see the photos all turned out stunningly well and I think the low cloud just adds to the ruggedness that is the Otago surroundings. Kylie & Simon infused so much of their own style and detail into this wedding so it was littered with personal touches that were all about them. Of course together with Jacqui Spice they worked with some fabulous local vendors from the Queenstown area. The beautiful floral arrangements were all done by Sarah Gutschlag at The Flower Room - check out her blog for lots of floral lovelies.

Real Wedding: Kylie & Simon Part I

I'm so excited to finally bring you this stunning wedding that I had the privilege of working on earlier in the year. It's featured in both Simply You Living and just this last week in the latest NZ Weddings Magazine, but we have lots more yummy images we want to share with you. Kylie & Simon came to me almost a year before their wedding to start on their stationery. They were surprising all of their guests with the location and a lot of the detail so to keep mum on the colour palette, the invitations were all done in neutral tones, but they certainly had wow factor with a lovely textured pocketfold and gorgeous crowns finishing them off. See more photos of their stationery here.

Kylie worked closely with Jacqui from Touch of Spice in Queenstown and together they styled the most fabulous event at Peregrine Winery. The beauty was in the detail; from the minature crowns filled with flowers, to crowns and ribbons on the back of the chairs. Ruby & Willow designed custom banners and flags along with an array of stationery for the day. The day was captured oh so beautifully by Johannes van Kan who is one of my favourite New Zealand photographers and I think you'll all agree the photos below speak for themselves! More coming up shortly.....

Sneak Peek - Kylie & Simon

I'll be posting this seriously stunning wedding later in the day....check back soon for lots of eye candy!!

Bad blogger again!

Apologies for the lack of posts lately.....turns out that blogging and trying to work (more than!!) fulltime on your own business isn't as easy as one might think!!! I have been SUPER busy lately with all sorts going on; the spring gift fair, a couple of branding/logo designs, doing stationery for a large corporate affair, getting loads of jobs out and this past weekend have been at The Grand Wedding show - both of which involve a LOT of prep and days of packing in and out. So by Monday I was completely out of it! And it's taken me the rest of the week to recover and catch up on things - well getting there anyway. Here's a few pics of our stands at the show. Over the coming days I'll put up some more detail one's of the stationery, and check back in for a fabulous real wedding....seriously you don't want to miss it, it's gorgeous!
