Charleston Plantation Wedding from Hyer Images...

I have the sweetest wedding for you today from the super lovely Hyer Images. I don't have any details on the wedding itself, other than it was held at Middleton Plantation in Charleston, but I'm sure the pictures can more than speak for themselves! How cute are this couple? And the pinwheel escort cards... love that idea!!

Gorgeous South Carolina Fall Wedding

Love is grand at any age and I think the excitement of getting married is the same regardless of whether you're 22 or 62 and today's absolutely stunning wedding is proof of that. Sent in by the lovely Billy & Rachel of Hyer Images, the wedding took place on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. Rick & Louise were married in a very colourful church and after their 'I do's' they walked down the aisle following a black gospel choir singing "Oh Happy Day" literally dancing down the aisle. That just sounds absolutely amazing to me and I can just imagine the goosebumps you'd have if you were there. Following the ceremony they were picked up by a vintage Roles Royce for their reception on the beach called The Sand Castle. It was beautifully decorated by Distinctive Events with an out door deck with an open bar and live music playing. Aren't these autumn colours just stunning... makes me excited for the season coming up!! And check out the escort cards on the screen... LOVE that!!

Charleston Beach Engagement Shoot with amazing lighting...

Wow!! You've gotta be happy when you head out to do a shoot and you get light like this right? Both as the photographer and the subject! Kevin & Rebecca were recently married in Charleston but weren't able to get great engagement photos, and once they saw the work of Hyer Images and realised 'what could be done', they booked in a redo so they could get it right. There really is such a difference between having 'a friend who can take photos' and hiring a professional photographer. In the end you may end up spending more money by choosing the former and being disappointed. And you know what I really love about this shoot? It feels so organic and real... focuses just on the couple rather than the prop set up. Billy & Rachel from Hyer Images share some details of the shoot with us...

We spent some quality time with the couple scouting for the perfect location, ending up at Folly Beach in Charleston, SC. In this case Kevin & Rebecca loved being apart of the whole deal from shopping to discusing of location and how posing works previous to the session. The last thing we ever want to do is to just show up and start shooting and its so nice when people have the willing effort and time to put into the session. One of the biggest frustrations you can experience as a photographer is when you show up to the session and the clothes they pick are so hard to make flattering in photos. We have a saying, just as clothes can make you look good or bad in regular life, it's the same with photos. The more we photograph the more we realize how clothing can make or break the outcome of a photo session, so we were so happy to have the time to shop with them.

North Carolina Fall Wedding

You know how sometimes you can just look at at image and you're instantly transported to your happy place... well that top left image put me in mine! Honestly, being in that photo would make me as happy as a pig in mud! And we all know how happy that is! So first up a huge thankyou to Billy & Rachel from Hyer Images for making my day with that and sending in this gorgeous fall wedding. Kara & Joey were heading down the track of a large wedding until they realised it just didn't fit with what they really wanted which was a small intimate celebration. With only 15 of their nearest and dearest to witness their moment, it also means that it's a relaxed affair where everyone knows each other and there aren't the same time restraints. Probably a photographers dream right? They chose Hawkesdene House, a stunning mountain retreat... which I have to say I really really want to visit!

How gorgeous is that table set up, with the miniature pumpkin place settings?
