A surprise proposal from Dilworth Photography...

I have what is possibly the sweetest proposal shoot ever for you on this Valentines day all captured  by Keri-Anne of Dilworth Photography. Josh, the groom to be, went to so much effort to set this up just perfectly. I will leave it to Keri-Anne to tell you all about it. If you want to see it as a slideshow set to music which is guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye, click here.

From Keri-Anne: I had the most amazing honor of capturing this wee gem, I knew from the moment Josh emailed me about it that it was going to be amazing! Josh spent hours and hours hand making everything from all of the signs that he lined along the beach with poignant dates and memories of their relationship to the posts, glass jar tea light holders and the picnic table comprised of a wooden top and brick legs topped with Candice's favorite food.

I LOVE a good proposal and a good proposal is one where the bride is totally unaware that it's coming. Josh pulled it off by getting his sister Laura to drive her to the beach under the pretense of a quick walk on the beach before dinner together (something they did regularly). While we were waiting (and Josh rather nervously as Candice was running a little bit late!) it turned into a bit of a stealth mission, we had Josh and Candice's siblings on top of the dune with binoculars ready to indicate her arrival while I cowered in the dunes making sure I was out of sight.

Once they had arrived at the beach (much to Josh's relief) Laura handed Candice a letter from him and gave her headphones to put on which had hers and Josh's 'song' playing. As she walked she read and followed the signs up to Josh who was standing at the top of the dune with a single rose and the rest as they say is history.

This proposal was drop dead gorgeous and the thought behind it was so impressive and sweet it was a lot of fun and I hope they will treasure these photos forever!

The lull after the storm...

As I suspected after the craziness that was my lead up to Christmas... I've pretty much collapsed since getting my last job out the door. This Christmas was the most unprepared I've ever been... my plans to make all sorts of homemade gifts and go all out with decorating went out the window... not a single card was sent I'm ashamed to say and my tree went up at 9pm the night before (European style!!). However on Christmas day none of that mattered as we had a lovely relaxing day with all the family at ours, and I did manage to put together an impromptu table together with 5 minutes to spare, using whatever I could find around the house, so that at least satisfied me somewhat on a creative level.  And thank god the 'mum's' saved the day with the food they bought! I'm officially putting myself on holiday until the 10th as I really need some time out and it's been lovely just hanging out at our new house with the husband, gardening, reading, and cooking instead of being locked in my office as I feel like I have been of late. Although doing nothing is tiring... I swear I could have slept on and off all boxing day... I'd get two pages into my book and nod off! This week I want to take some time to get ready for a huge 2011, work on my new website and be able to start the year superbly organised and with a bang. For my international readers, New Zealand pretty much shuts down for at least 2 weeks after Christmas... in fact some companies don't reopen until the 17th or 24th and have a long summer hiatus, and since my printers are one of those companies it's enforced a bit of a break for me as well, so I have a list of must do things to get through both business and personal. However I have got some posts lined up to keep you company until I'm back on board!
Anyway enough about me... I hope you all had a fabulously festive weekend and for those of you lucky enough to be having an extended summer holiday or otherwise travel safe and slap on that sunscreen... it's super hot out there!!
I'll leave you today with one of the cutest proposals you'll ever see. Read more about this story here.
