Board#224: Spring Blues

I don't know about you but boy am I glad to see Friday here... in fact I'll be even more happy at the end of the day! Been a wee bit of a challenging week. Lots on, lots happening, and then night before last hubby got a lovely dose of food poisoning in the middle of the night, resulting in very little sleep for both of us, and consequently me walking around like a zombie for most of the day! Might have to try and book in for a little pampering over the weekend me thinks!!

Sadly we can't quite be celebrating spring around here yet but any day now surely (yes there is more than a hint of begging in that sentence!!). Doesn't this make for the most serene colour palette for your wedding? I can see this being used across a broad range of wedding styles; from a beach wedding to a vineyard wedding, and even a more modern industrial theme. The white flowers en masse are just sensational!! 

I'm taking the day off to spend with my 10 year old niece whilst it's school holidays so we'll be off having fun and exploring with Charlie somewhere!!

Easter Sweetness

Happy Easter everyone!! I can't believe how amazingly nice this week has turned out. We were forewarned of a 'weather bomb' for most of the week... expecting torrential rain and gale force winds, and whilst it's been fairly windy (although that seems the norm over the past 6 months!) yesterday was one of the hottest days we've had all summer!! Even though it's now autumn! Craziness. But I'm thrilled since our friends from San Diego arrive tomorrow (yay!!) and sunny weather always, always makes a holiday better!! We're heading off on a road trip next week so I'll be out of here for about 10 days, although I do have some prettiness lined up for you!! For today some pretty Easter pastels... this makes me want to paint my eggs and display them... think I might have to try this one day it looks so effective. Wishing you a fabulous long and fun weekend everyone... and enjoy those hot cross buns and choccie eggs!! I'm looking forward to tucking into my favourite chocolate marshmallow eggs!! xo

Board#154: Vintage Sorbet

Morning lovelies!! I felt like something a bit bright and spring like today, and I think these muted sorbet colours are just the trick! I have a crazy busy week ahead getting jobs out and trying to work my way through my to-do list. I sat down and wrote it last night... breaking it up between home,  garden, business (split into blog, current jobs, letterpress, special project, special project 2, & accounts) and personal well being. Phew I have 94 things on that list! Daunting to say the least. Hopefully I can cross at least 5 of those items off today. Wish me luck!

Board#147: Dawning of Spring

Aside from the last 24 hours which has been downright rainy and miserable, spring got on to a fantastic start in Auckland. And what better time with such an influx on tourists here for the Rugby World Cup. We simply couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to hold the opening ceremony on Friday. It was quite spectacular. I found myself waking up on Saturday morning palpably excited at the thought of summer just around the corner. It's so exciting to see the trees get greener by the day and plants start to blossom. I know we don't notice it as much here as you do in colder areas, but I cling to what we do get. I'm almost obsessively checking our new trees (that we've only ever seen in their winter bareness) for any sign of life... the sap has risen I've been told!! Spring brings with it a whole new freshness so I had to create a board full of the freshest yellows and greens in keeping with the new spring in my step! Happy Monday folks xo

Yay for long weekends!! And especially long weekends in winter that yield a stunner of a day like we had yesterday... it was seriously amazing... so warm and sunny and just down right beautiful. Board#123: A day in May

Here we are in May! Can you believe it? I'm not sure where the past few months have gone. And somehow even though summer has not long left the building down here, it feels like months since we've had a warm sunny day (in reality it was a few weeks back) so I thought I'd brighten things up after the miserable weekend we've just had and inject a bit of spring into the air.
My Monday morning is getting off to a bit of a dream start really (oh minus the 7.30am session with a personal trainer... just remembered that as I wrote it! Dang!). But after said hideous workout session, I have a 2 hour pampering session - which is sure to make up for my rude awakening to the day! My superbly thoughtful husband bought me a voucher out of a blue a few months back and it expires next week and I totally forgot I had it so thankfully I found in it time and figured what a great way to ease into the working week!! Hope you find something to put a smile on your face Monday morning!
