I'm thrilled to have a wedding from the extremely talented St Clair Photography for you today, and it's of another fellow New Zealand photographer's no less who I've also had the honour of featuring on the blog before (see here). Claire & Alex had such a fun, relaxed, picnic style wedding, and I love that these photos have a distinct kiwi vibe to them. Looking at them actually reminds me of childhood holidays for some reason!! St Clair Photography shoot in film which is a rarity these days but leaves you with the most beautiful timeless results! Over to the bride Claire who shares a little of their day with us...
Alex proposed to me with my Grandmothers ring in his rowboat 'Pugwash' last Autumn. We were married in a little bush park in Raglan, but we had a backup church if it rained. We didn't have a huge budget for our wedding, so most of it was DIY. I found it hard to find a dress I liked, so Corina Snow Bridal in Tauranga was amazing and helped design me the dress of my dreams. My family was such a great help in the lead up and we made and set up everything ourselves; all the invites, signs, homebrew, bunting, we even did our own flowers. During the ceremony, the guests watched us exchange vows while sitting on hay bales, We have many musical friends too, so we were lucky enough to have live music, complete with banjo and keyboard. After the ceremony we had gelato icecreams and a friend made our cake and cupcakes. While we went off and had some photos our guests were entertained with fun and games and a photobooth. Our reception was a small dinner and dance at a local bach overlooking the harbour. Colin Chung from Colin's Kitchen put on an amazing buffet and after speeches and homemade pies for dessert we danced the night away in the little barn.
