Spring pastels shoot by Katie O'Neill

Good morning... how was your weekend? I spent it on cloud 9 over your lovely comments and feedback for the first issue of the Magnolia Rouge magazine, and it has me so excited to start working on the next one!! Oh the plans I have going around in my head right now!! I absolutely love working with the many amazing photographers and vendors whose work graces the pages, they are all just so so lovely, and make my job super easy! I'll be sharing the features from the magazine here on the blog over the coming weeks but to start this week off we have a sweet styled shoot by Katie O'Neill Foto, out of Taranaki. How incredible is that beautiful pastel peony bouquet? And I'm especially loving the statement necklace that the bride is wearing!

Paris honeymoon shoot by Juliane Berry

Ooo la la... what girl doesn't dream of having a 'love' shoot - or encore shoot as I've also heard it termed - in Paris? Juliane Berry, an American photographer living in Paris, captured Jo and Aidan - an Australian couple - whilst on their honeymoon in Paris. Taking in all the iconic landmarks it really can't help but be uber romantic! Pop over to Juliane's facebook page to see lots of other gorgeous Parisian shoots!

Thank you all SO much for the amazing words of encouragement and positive feedback on the first issue of the new Magnolia Rouge magazine yesterday... so very much appreciated!! I can't wait to start working on the next issue!

Magnolia Rouge - The Urban Issue NOW LIVE!

I'm so very excited to bring you this issue of Magnolia Rouge Magazine! It's been a week filled with the odd stressful moment - like that one at 2am yesterday morning as I was making the final page order and the file turned into a grey screen and I lost everything!! Yeh that was a fun 9 hours until I managed to get a helpful Adobe support person (first time that's happened!!). He told me I was extremely unlucky to have that happen... reassuring right? Anyway crisis averted, now it's time to get on to celebrating all the amazingly talented people who have contributed to this issue and made it what it is. Firstly the fabulous Stephanie Williams who provided the magazine it's Vogue worthy cover shoot!! Isn't it just stunning? A HUGE thank you to Gaby from Southbound Bride, who literally is an angel, and became my life line over the past week as I fired her email after email with things to proof and edit! She's a godsend! I owe her big-time! Another thank you must go out to Ben, (husband of this lovely lady) who was ever so patient with me in coding my design (I am definitely not a coder's friend when it comes to designing things... pedantic much?). And to the numerous vendors and bloggers who have been overwhelmingly supportive and help to spread the word about a little magazine from New Zealand!!
I was hoping to have the new look blog all up and running but the magazine had to take precedent, however it should be ready to launch next week and I have some AMAZING giveaways to go along with it, so be sure to keep your eye out for those announcements on the facebook page. I'd love to hear your feedback on the magazine once you've had a chance to flick through it!! And if you're interested in jumping on board in some capacity for the next issue get in touch! Have a fabulous day... I'm off for a bit of a break from the computer! xo

A fairytale wedding in the forest by Sweet Little Photographs

Happy Monday!! Did you have a lovely weekend? My hubby has gone back to work today so it's time to get back to routine!! Charlie is sulking as she loved having him home... truth be told so did I. We've had the loveliest couple of weeks on our 'staycation' and I kinda didn't want it to end... although I do need to spend some time getting work done now! Anyway I have the cutest of cutest weddings to kick start the week...

I fell in love with the work of Tim & Merrill from Sweet Little Photographs work a while back, and I'm so excited to share one of their weddings with you today! Especially as it's just so dang adorable!! Held in the giant Redwood Forests around Los Gatos in California this wedding is a little bit like a fairy tale... a treehouse, the cutest little cottage you ever did see (reminds me of something from Hansel & Gretel!), ponds, lakes... honestly this place looks like my kinda dream location!

Lisa and Z - or Zisa if you go by their 'celebrity moniker' - are both graphic designers and I think it's pretty obvious looking at all the cute details in their wedding. I'm loving the groom and groomsmen attire as well... great combos!

Farm engagement shoot by Ulmer Studios

Saturday engagement shoots are back! I was so happy to stumble upon the incredible work of Josh & Amber from Ulmer Studios a little while back, and even happier to be featuring one of their gorgeous shoots on the blog today. I mean how stunning are these two? That farm just looks like a little slice of heaven! Happy weekend everyone... I hope you have something fun planned!

Sweet Inspiration Shoot by Lene Photography

I'm thrilled to be bringing you this lovely shoot from Lene Photography this sunny Friday afternoon. With both gorgeous dresses and florals it's the perfect thing to finish off the week with! Lene is currently spending her summer in New Zealand (away from her native Germany) so if you're still on the lookout for a photographer this season or fancy an engagement shoot get in touch with Lene!!

Board#233: Apricot & Grey

Well the crazy good weather continues around these parts... honestly I don't know how you people in places like California get work done when you have so much sunshine!! Although there is only so much time you can spend out there in the harsh sun during the day admittedly! I think I need a paddling pool under my desk to keep me cooler, it's that warm! (ooh now that's actually not a bad idea!!)
How lovely is this apricot and grey combination! It's timeless don't you think? Love the little pop of colour in the groomsmens ties! There are SO many pretty options when it comes to flowers in peach and apricot tones so you really can't go wrong there.

Beautiful Kumeu wedding by Jess Sim

Oh boy do I have the sweetest of weddings for you today!! Jessica Sim's work has graced the insides of many a fashion magazine (I urge you to go and check out some of the fabulous shoots on her blog right now!!) and now we have the pleasure of seeing her capture the beauty of weddings... first up Aana & Jason's incredible Kumeu, West Auckland celebration. Inspired by the gorgeous location, this couple said their "I do's" surrounded by nature, and had a wedding day that was real and authentic and all about 'them'. With their two darling children their to witness, their big day was made all the more special with a haka being performed for them by the bride's father and brothers, followed with a waiata karakia (a prayer sung in Maori) to bless the ceremony.

Aana's advice to other brides... "Enjoy the planning process and make sure you have everything organised prior to the wedding so that when the day comes you can relax and feel 100% happy with how everything looks and the flow of the day. Surround your self with people you trust, so that everyone can have a hand in making your wedding memorable."

And that most memorable moment for them was the ceremony. "You spend so much time thinking about and planning the rest of the day, it was so nice to turn up and be reminded that actually, this is what we are all here for! Our celebrant, Sally Guest did such an amazing job – the ceremony really was something special."
