A fairytale wedding in the forest by Sweet Little Photographs

Happy Monday!! Did you have a lovely weekend? My hubby has gone back to work today so it's time to get back to routine!! Charlie is sulking as she loved having him home... truth be told so did I. We've had the loveliest couple of weeks on our 'staycation' and I kinda didn't want it to end... although I do need to spend some time getting work done now! Anyway I have the cutest of cutest weddings to kick start the week...

I fell in love with the work of Tim & Merrill from Sweet Little Photographs work a while back, and I'm so excited to share one of their weddings with you today! Especially as it's just so dang adorable!! Held in the giant Redwood Forests around Los Gatos in California this wedding is a little bit like a fairy tale... a treehouse, the cutest little cottage you ever did see (reminds me of something from Hansel & Gretel!), ponds, lakes... honestly this place looks like my kinda dream location!

Lisa and Z - or Zisa if you go by their 'celebrity moniker' - are both graphic designers and I think it's pretty obvious looking at all the cute details in their wedding. I'm loving the groom and groomsmen attire as well... great combos!

Elegant Malibu wedding by Braedon Flynn

We were so thrilled to feature the beautiful work of Braedon Flynn in the most recent issue of {MAG}rouge. A team of amazing vendors brought this gorgeous event to fruition including the super talented team of Lisa Vorce of Oh, How Charming and Mindy Rice Floral Design... both of whose work has graced many a top magazine! Teresa’s beautiful gown is a Vera Wang, in keeping with the designer’s vibrant yet timeless aesthetic.

The color way - inspired by the very glamorous Coco Chanel - included creams, soft blacks, and hints of gold. The ceremony took place in the round on a beautiful lawn. Mindy Rice had a custom structure welded to support billowing curtains of a creamy-golden silk taffeta, that draped softly and romantically on all four corners.

California picnic wedding by Alders Photography

Wow this week is flying... can't believe it's already Thursday! Things are getting very busy heading into the wedding season with invitations! And I've been receiving so many fabulous submissions of late... thank you so much to all the wonderfully talented people sending them in! Yesterday was my biggest day on the blog ever so another huge thank you to everyone who visits every day to read! Virtual hugs all round :-)

Today's lovely wedding comes from Jenny of Alders Photography in California. When BREN designer Brie Maletz recently wed the man of her dreams, it was only fitting that the event included the perfect attention to details that her and identical twin sister, Jenny Maletz, dedicate to their LA based clothing line.

Brie & Tom's beautiful wedding, which captured the vibe of an elegant picnic, took place at Maravilla Gardens. With Tom originally from England, the couple really wanted to embrace the ambiance of an English afternoon tea garden. From baby's breath bouquets and lemon centerpieces, to croquet during the reception and Pimm's as the signature cocktail, the bride's homemade scones with jam and the London Cab exit car made for a very well-executed wedding theme! The entire event included many significant personal touches as well. The groom's sister and mother made the lemon wedding cake and the bride's mom and cousin played the guitar and sang for the couple's first dance as husband and wife. In addition, the bride and her identical twin sister, Jenny, own a women's fashion line, BREN, so the bridesmaid's dresses were all their design. The groom's suit was also custom designed by Jenny's boyfriend, Micah, the owner of Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen. Quite the creative family if you ask me!

Calamigos Ranch wedding by Tanja Lippert

I've long been an admirer of the amazing work of Tanja Lippert, so I was thrilled that we could feature her work in the recent issue of {MAG}rouge. And naturally it was perfect for our festival issue with their fun portraits in front of the ferris wheel!!

Jane & Steve's vision for their big day was rustic, vintage and whimsical. Calamigos Ranch had fulfilled all their expectations for a fun, relaxed, outdoor place where “you are just able to stop for a moment and breathe in life”.

Backyard Fiesta Wedding by Cameron Ingalls

I was so thrilled to stumble upon this gorgeous backyard wedding by Cameron Ingalls. I've been a fan of his work for some time now so I'm delighted to feature it on the blog. Danielle & Seth had the most stunning of weddings in Seth's parents backyard... I think it must be so lovely to get married in your backyard... you'd always have such lovely memories of it. I love that they created their own little fiesta, and by all accounts it looks like such a fabulous and fun day. And can I just say how utterly gorgeous Danielle is!! I love that long stunning veil she is wearing. I implore you before you peruse the images of their day, check out this incredible film of it by The Cana Family... I can't promise that you'll have dry eyes at the end of it!

Wedding Preview: Seth and Danielle at the Lakes from The Cana Family on Vimeo.

From Danielle, the bride: My husband proposed to me 3 days after our one year anniversary (of dating), which obviously completely caught me off guard! I had figured that if he was going to he would have done it on our anniversary. He however, wanted to wait until the first day of Spring because it was the season of new life and it was the beginning of a new season in our lives! We were living in Santa Monica, CA, and he had planned a picnic for our date night, and we sat up on the cliffs overlooking PCH and the ocean. He's already a pretty romantic guy, so I didn't suspect anything. He reminded me that it was the first day of spring and I thought that was cute he noticed and must have been why he thought of packing a picnic. After we finished eating our sandwiches, he told me he had finished making my anniversary gift and wanted to give it to me. He pulled our this small black notebook with hand drawn pictures of all our fun memories and adventures together. On the last page of the book, he had drawn a picture of a ring, with a question mark... I was a bit confused for a second, but then just as I figured out what it meant I started crying and before I knew it he was down on his knee proposing to me. It was completely magical and perfect!

We both wanted our wedding to feel peaceful, relaxing, fun, and inviting. We were married at his parent's home, by a lake, and had our reception in their backyard! The mariachi band was our one reception "splurge" because I had always felt it would be something special and so memorable. My husband and I made all of our evening playlists, and he mixed them to perfection. We had our talented friends play live songs during dinner. My aunt made all of the desserts and even took the time to hand make "R" initials and hearts  for the cupcakes. My stepfather and Mom made most of the appetizers and salads, and I really feel we accomplished the elegant fiesta backyard wedding we were dreaming of :)
