Tennessee wedding from Simply Bloom

Happy weekend everyone!! Brrrr... it's been mighty cold around here this week. However we've been blessed with some gorgeously sunny winter days so that beats rainy, windy ones any time! But yep, the layers have certainly been piled on! Do you have anything nice planned for the weekend? I have quite a bit to catch up on at home, then of course there will be several puppy walks and play time, and fingers crossed a movie night if we can find anything decent to go and see!!

I'm not really prone to 'swooning' but when I stumbled upon this lovely wedding from Simply Bloom, well I may just have 'swooned' a little! Lialah and Daniel did things a little differently to most and booked their venue - Spring Creek Ranch - and date before they were officially engaged.. that way they were guaranteed to get the venue of they wanted, and it just so happened it was the only date Simply Bloom had available in that month too so it all worked out perfectly. As a designer, Lialah was in her element planning and designing their big day. She had envisioned a wedding surrounded and inspired by nature… breathtaking flowers and succulents, twinkling lights, delicious food, great music, good drink and unbeatable company! And by all accounts, it looks like that's what they got! I love the bridesmaids attire!!!

Thanks so much to Lialah and Daniel for letting us share their wedding!

Christmas Candy Inspiration Board

I haven't had a whole lot of time for blogging this week but hopefully you don't mind me reposting this board and some of this shoot from Simply Bloom that I posted this time last year...  I'm sure you won't as it really is just gorgeous Chrismasy inspiration! This is where my friendship with Vania & Christine began, when they asked me to create stationery for this delightful shoot. I love the colours in this board for Christmas... a modern twist on the traditional red and green. In fact I'm using two of these colours myself this year? Can you guess which one I'm leaving out?

Queen of the Road shoot by Simply Bloom

If you missed the launch of the inaugural issue of {MAG}rouge last week you may not have had the chance to lay your eyes on this beautiful and ethereal shoot from our friends over at Simply Bloom. When we first mooted the idea of an online magazine between us, we didn't really think too much about the cover shoot, and when whilst emailing Simply Bloom about another project I had worked on  with them (these cute little invites I did for Christine's baby shower earlier in the year), they mentioned a cover shoot, we were naturally over the moon! And once the {MAG}rouge team came up with the road trip theme, and the girls found that incredible gold car, the shoot started to take shape. So we want to send a huge thank you to both Vania and Christine who we adore, and who are just so insanely talented, and also to the lovely models who jumped at the chance of doing this shoot with them.
These are a few extra shots that didn't feature in the magazine. To see the remainder of the shoot click here. And to see more of my stationery click here.

Link Love

Happy long weekend people!! Well if you're in Auckland or anywhere else in New Zealand it's 100% rugby fever this weekend. The excitement in the air is palpable... there is just so much on the line. The mood of the entire country on Monday morning is wholly dependent on 80 minutes of play time tomorrow night. And if not you're from New Zealand and not familiar with the game of rugby and the fervour for which this country has for it, it is not an exaggeration when I say people the length of our small country will be plunged into mourning and depression should it not go our way!! But of course that is all moot talk as I KNOW we will win!!! (dear rugby god, please don't let me have to eat my words!!). I'm very excited for the game tomorrow night, although also nervous... never underestimate your opponent right?
Just the one lovely gem of a link for you this week from some of my favourite photographers, the lovely ladies of Simply Bloom. Isn't is stunning? Check out the more of this wedding on their blog and over on the Brides Cafe.
Enjoy the long weekend everyone and GO THE ALL BLACKS!!!!!! xo

Dreamy Romantic Shoot from Simply Bloom

I'm sure it's no secret that I have a crush on anything Vania & Christine from Simply Bloom point their cameras at, and today's feature is no different. This is pure, unadulterated girly goodness!!!  (IF I were prone to swooning I would be!!) They worked with Jill La Fleur of La Fleur Weddings who created this dreamy setup at the Roblar Winery in California. I'm particularly loving that set up by the fire with the wooden table on castors, the texture of the cushions and those gorgeous bouquets!! And I'm dying over that cake... like honestly tongue hanging out dying!! I'm doing the typical new year, new me cleanse/detox... whatever name you want to give to it (insanity comes to mind!) so staring  at that cake is seriously not doing me any favours!! Anyhoo... great job girls... you captured it in the most stunning way imaginable!

Style Me Pretty feature with Simply Bloom

I know many of you probably saw this on Style Me Pretty last week but hey you can't blame a girl for reposting it right? I mean this is possibly one of the most, if not THE most exciting things to have happened in my career. A few weeks ago one of my favourite photography duo's, Simply Bloom, said that they loved the inspiration boards I put together and that they'd love to do a shoot around one. Well of course I just thought all my Christmas's had come at once!! Then they asked me to do the stationery for said shoot and well it was all on!! It's no secret that I have loved their work for some time, and have often featured it in my posts. Of course in between all our communicaton, my computer nightmare happened (yeh remember that day my hard drive died!) and I had about 3 days to get the stationery to the US which at this time of year is nigh impossible... but hey Christine and Vania worked their magic and look how it all turned out! First up the board...

And then the stunning shoot that they did around it. Isn't it just gorgeous... who wouldn't love to have their Christmas table looking just like this? I adore the little mugs with the peppermint candy on the rim!! So sweet... and the bows... it's all just perfection! A thousand thank yous to Simply Bloom for giving me this opportunity!

Board#95: Blooming Lovely

Hooray for hump day!! How is your week going? We are still being traumatised by those nasty but teeny tiny mosquitoes which is resulting in some very broken nights sleep! I'm finally kinda, sorta starting to feel like I'm getting things under control (and I really do mean kinda, sorta, starting too mind you...). This weekend I'm hosting my first baby shower for one of my very best friends in the world so I'm excited about that, and sinking myself into making it look all purdy!!
So today's inspiration board... a few weeks ago on Twitter I noticed that one of my all time favourite photographers said how much they loved my inspiration boards. Well if that didn't just downright make my week right then and there nothing would right? I mean the girls... Vania & Christine (yep we're on first name basis now ;-) from Simply Bloom are rockstars in the wedding world right now, and I'm fairly certain they're just at the beginning of their game. Remember this insanely beautiful Italian wedding I went on about a while back... yep all theirs! In fact I would be so bold to say that with only 3 weeks left in the year this one will go down as my wedding of the year! So of course  after such an accolade I simply had to do a board that was all about them and their stunning work. I hope I don't sound too pathetic and gushy and I'll stop in a sec, but not before saying that on top of being just ridiculously talented, they are so incredibly nice and sweet and we may just have done a little project together (more on that soon...). All of these images are taken from different shoots they've done. For this and far more loveliness check out their beautiful blog.
Happy hump day y'all!
