Real Wedding: Agnes + Adam

I'm delighted to bring you yet another fabulous wedding by Steve Sharp from Shots Photography today. Set at the stunning Kelliher Estate on Puketutu Island, Agnes wore a fabulous Vera Wang dress, whilst her bridesmaids cafe au lait dresses were by Paula Chan Chek. Flowers were done by Anna Brice from Miss Audrey and the gorgeous cake is from Chocolate Earth.

Tell us about your proposal:
We were on holiday with friends in New York. It was the last day of our holiday and Adam and I had a little time to ourselves. We were walking through Time Square when he totally surprised me and asked me to marry him. He had a proposal ring which he'd been carrying with him for some time, just waiting for the right moment.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress:
It was the first time I went to try on wedding dresses and I was lucky enough to find my perfect dress so quickly. I absolutely loved the detail on the back of the dress and knew straight away that this was the one. I always knew that I didn’t want to wear a veil and the detail on the back of the dress gave me a great excuse not to wear one.
What was the design inspiration for your wedding?
We fell in love with the venue when we first saw it and got our inspiration from the beautiful native gardens and setting. We used the natural surroundings as the basis for our colour scheme.
Describe your wedding flowers:
The bridesmaids and I had ivory coloured avalanche roses for our bouquets and in our hair. The groomsmen wore ivory roses to match and Adam wore a red rose (the colour red is regarded as lucky in the Chinese culture).
Describe your wedding cake:
It was a two tier white chocolate cube cake. The top tier was white mud cake and the bottom tier dark chocolate. Avalanche roses adorned the top of the cake and the second tier finished off with a black satin ribbon.
Favourite detail of the day:
We had both our Uncles perform the ceremony which made it that little more special for us.
What advise would you give out to someone planning their wedding?
Don't stress about the small things and enjoy the day.
Were there any special traditions that you included?
I had the traditional Samoan dance with my family. Adam wore a red rose as red is a traditional colour in a Chinese wedding and is considered good luck.
Most memorable moment?
The look on Adam’s face when I walked down the aisle.
What’s next for you as a couple?
Few more years here working in London. Also a little bit of travelling.

We wish Adam & Agnes all the best for their future. It was a pleasure working with you!
