Late last year I had the privilege of being asked to style the wedding of one my closest friends, Julie. It was held at one of her family members beautiful property on the Kerikeri inlet which made for the most magical setting. It had the atmosphere of a music festival with all the guests chilling out on the banks of the inlet watching the most beautiful sunset, listening to music, enjoying the tastes of local seafood.
It was a complete DIY affair with family members and friends all pitching in to create a fabulous day. For the stationery we took inspiration from the setting, and designed motifs of New Zealand images which were used throughout the suite. Combining cards of different earthy colours for the main invitation, we bound it all in twine for a rustic feel. On the tables we piled locally picked hydrangeas into mini blue pails, and designed placemats for everyone to give it a homespun feeling. We made favour jars with personalised labels from locally sourced honey, and her family very generously spent hour upon hour catering for the 120 guests - including many hours fishing for local seafood.
See more of Julie & Rob's stationery here.
Thanks to Julie & Rob for letting me be a part of their very special day - it was an honour. I wish only the best of futures for you!
