Real Wedding: Hamish + Harriet Part I

We are featuring the sweetest wedding today courtesy of the lovely and very talented Jody Lidstone. Hamish and Harriet got married at Vin Alto, a boutique winery in Clevedon and they've been generous enough to share their wedding with us. You've just gotta love a wedding with the guys rockin' Italian style boater hats! And Harriet....well she's one clever lady designing both her dresses and the bridesmaids! Tell us about your proposal:
Picnic breakfast on Waitangi day at Duders National Park on a hill side overlooking the sea – suddenly a box was found in the picnic basket! A few seconds after the on one knee proposal a heap of tourists happen to pop up around the hill side behind us!
Tell us about finding your wedding dress:
I was in Sydney on holiday and I saw a dress in a window –and went in - turns out they were two sisters in a dress making shop - been on Oxford St long before it was cool - they were like my fairy god mothers! They told me they would just measure me up in case I did decide to have something made by them – got back to Auckland and couldn’t find the right thing at the right price so I called them up and arranged it all and went back over for a fitting with my design in toe – they don’t have emails! I chose everything and then my bridesmaid was over there and picked it up – it was perfect and fitted perfectly – so long as not much breathing was required!
What was the inspiration for your wedding?
Romantic, classic, gold and rose gold and soft apricot and creams, Italian vineyard location.
