Real Wedding: Carmel + Chris II

We're back with more of the loveliness that is Carmel & Chris. I'm a big fan of wedding photos in industrial places or with old run down (insert character!) buildings, so these photos that Susie Blatchford has captured sing loudly to me. It's the juxtaposition of pretty pretty dresses, with the rawness of bricks & mortar, or old railways lines. And how about that cake - love the texture that the flowers give to the all white affair.

Any DIY/Budget elements?
I really love the vintage chic look of a birdcage veil they have a very modern and contemporary look about them. After no luck hunting one down in the shops that suited, my mum suggested she try making one. I wasn’t at all surprised knowing how creative my mum is when she turned up the morning of the wedding with a handmade birdcage veil – it was perfect.
Describe your wedding flowers:
We chose white roses as our wearable flowers, modern, simple and timeless looking but for the venue I wanted the vintage chic theme to carry on in the flowers so we chose white hydrangeas to dress the tables and venue.
Favourite detail of the day:
Just three weeks before our wedding day my Grandma passed away leaving behind my Grandfather. It was sudden and unexpected and she was unbelievably excited about attending our wedding. Chris and I decided to have a small memorial tribute in the entrance of our venue celebrating our day in her honour. We had a lovely picture of her smiling face beside my Grandfather surrounded by lit candles and white hydrangeas. Definitely a detail to remember and made us so grateful that we were still able to celebrate our day with my Grandfather.
