Real Wedding: Veronica + Jamie II

This gorgeous wedding from Kate MacPherson was a collective effort from Veronica and Jamie's friends and family which makes it all the more personal - not the mention the fact that the bride and her Mum made her wedding dress!!! Talk about hands on! Kate has done a superb job of capturing the essence of the day and the feeling of sweet heartfelt ceremony really shines through.

Any DIY/Budget elements?
Most of our wedding was DIY for budget reasons but in retrospect all the effort friends and family put in really added a lot of heart to the day. Friends and family made all of the finger food for after the ceremony. I made and bottled Elderflower Champagne about four or five months in advance so it was nice and fizzy by the time the day rolled around. I designed and printed the invites, other stationery and confetti cones. I sewed metres and metres of bunting. I made about 10 cake stands out of old plates and glasses found in op shops. My sister sewed lots of cushion covers and co-ordinating blankets for guests to lounge around on outside (unfortunately a storm rolled in and they weren't really used, but now I have a very cosy living room!) We had friends and family to help set up and tidy up. A friend did the music from his laptop. We planned and wrote our whole wedding ceremony and a good friend of ours acted as our celebrant. I made Jamie's button hole out of native bird feathers that we had found on various occasions (Tui, Weka, Kereru and Pukeko). We asked people to bring their own alcohol instead of a gift. That helped out budget, we didn't end up with piles of new towels and everyone got to drink exactly what they liked. We provided non alcoholic drinks and bubbly.
Describe your wedding flowers:

Hydrangeas picked the day before from the side of the road. I decided not to go to a florist for flowers and to instead just rely on being able to find something in bloom when I need them. My plan B, if I couldn't find any flowers, was to have green foliage or dried wild grass.
