Clare & Campbell wanted an intimate, elegant affair with a rustic touch and Mantells in Mt Eden provided the perfect backgrop for that feel. The overall look of the wedding with it's soft tones developed with the venue in mind, and was also inspired by her pale pink Yvonne Bennetti satin peep toes. Let's just stop for a second and have a good long stare at those shoes!! Oh the shoes!! I die! No surprise that these were one of Clare's favourite details, and the flowers done by Marg Dorrington were developed based on the colour of these. Clare had some further details to share about the flowers...
Inspired by the soft colour of my shoes, I wanted to introduce a touch of the colour with classic white Akito roses. My Bridesmaids had stronger tones of lilac and purple (my favourite colour) with sweet avalanche roses and lysianthus. As much as I love strong bold colour…I wanted my flowers to be elegant and not overwhelming against the off white dress. I loved that the bridesmaids were in striking black enabling them to carry the bolder stronger purple tones.

I'm a firm believer that you want to look like 'you' on your wedding day...albeit the best version of you I guess (rather than a radical departure to your usual look)....Clare shares how she went about choosing a look that was totally her...
I wanted something classical, elegant and relatively simple as I wanted to wear a “spectacular” head piece in my hair. I am notorious for having flowers/feathers or accessories in my hair and I wanted to be true to my style especially on such a special day. The head piece was a gift from my sister made by Auckland designer Kevin Berkahn. It was elegant; encrusted with pearls and diamonds and totally me!
