So I am writing this on my 5x10cm (or thereabouts) iPhone rather than my beloved 24inch Mac because after a loooooong week and catching up on blogs on Friday night, said computer decided to have a meltdown - a heart in throat, palpitations, night sweats, oh my god I'm so scared - kind of meltdown!!! AND I foolishly havent backed up (which I fully realise is quite possibly the stupidest thing EVA!!) So today if you do nothing else, I implore you to back up your systems so you don't have a fraught few days like I have! So whilst I do damage control and get down on my hands and knees and pray to the apple gods, this week we'll be revisiting some earlier posts to keep you company. If you are one if my current clients please bear with me; I have no access to previous emails so if you are waiting to hear from me please send me another email.
Wish me luck people... And if any other Mac users have had this happen and it ended happily I'd love to hear!! I need some positive stories to cling onto right now :-)

oh.my.god! That is very very bad news but , I have faith in Apple and I think you should be okay. *fingers crossed* I just backed up my stuff today, and will make a double back up tomorrow!
Oh, and I love the inspiration board- haven't seen it before and its so delicate and beautiful!
Oh Kate, i do hope you get your computer soon!! That happen to my one year ago with my pc... literally died... and it was quite scary cause i lost everything.... EVERYTHING! So i now exactly how you feel!!!... Sending you positive vibes to your iphone...
By the way, the board is beautiful!!!
It's happened to me twice Kate but I always managed to recover my files AND get my computer working ok afterwards. It's scary and mostly annoying but it will work out!!
Aw, Kate, so sorry to hear about your computer trouble! I've been where you are (hard drive failure and no back up) - I now have at least three back ups. I worked at an Apple retail store for two years - I've seen the Genius work magic (not always, but I have seen it). I hope they can work magic for you and get everything back to you. Wishing you tons of luck and positive thoughts! :)

Hi,
I once spilled pineapple juice all over my MacBook and everything else broke down except my hard drive.
After that I learned my lesson and I bought external hard drive and now it does back ups every day.
I can recommend similar solution for you since with external hard drive you don't have to remember to do back ups it does it for you.
Good luck with your mac! I hope you'll get your hard drive or mac back in good shape!

Soooo happy to hear that your computer is back - and almost all your information! WOW...I can only imagine what you were going through. Sorry sweets that you had to go through it! Your advice and this board are both positives tho - you have most likely helped someone...and inspired them!
