Any day I feature superstar photographer Kate MacPherson on the blog is a good day indeed!! Ngaire & Tom got married up in the beautiful spot of Kerikeri and Kate worked her magic as you can see. Her work has such a timeless, elegant quality to it I never get tired of looking over her portfolio of work. Over to the bride...
We got engaged in the South of France back in April 2009. We were a bit split on where to get married - Tom wanted to get married in an english country pub, me back home in New Zealand. So it seemed right, when we made the decision to move home, that we get married too. Most of the planning was done while we still lived in London, a little when we were travelling through Mexico in the later months of 2010, and the rest all sort of came together once we got back home just before Christmas. We were really fortunate to have our ceremony overlooking the Kerikeri inlet (at a family friends house), and even luckier that the weather stepped up and turned on a stunner of a day. Our wedding reception was at Ake Ake vineyard and the food and wine were amazing. Thanks to Chris Owen and his amazing team there.
The wedding was a bit of a collective effort - our really good friend who is also an Art Designer did our invites, programmes and general design used throughout the day; my Mum Sue made the cakes to go with the cheese, my friend Ange from school did the hair, my sister-in-law Louise did the makeup, a family friend performed the ceremony, and my sister led the creative 'team' in themeing the marquee! Special moments: Kate MacPherson did the best job of our photos. We both don't feel like we are that photogenic and didn't like the idea of posed photos. Kate made us feel so at ease and the photos definitely speak for themselves. I also really enjoyed walking down the aisle (to a cover of Outkast's Hey Ya by Obadaiah Parker) and seeing all our friends, and of course Tom at the end of the aisle.
