We're taking a little break from reality today with this gorgeous and romantic fairytale inspired shoot by Neiyo Sun from Australia. I love the little apple candles... such a cute idea which would be easy to do at home for a dinner party!! And all those fabulous cakes... yum! Neiyo tells us of her inspiration behind the shoot...
This is my first inspiration shoot and I came up with the idea of Snow White as every girl dreams of a fairy tale. When I think of Snow White, I think of beauty, sweetness, innocence, purity, the smell of forests, red apples, and white. Half a years in the making… and its all finally come together….'
After watching Snow White and the Huntsman, it gave me a clearer idea of the kind of shoot I was looking for with the messy tangled hair in the woods. Red, white and mocha are the main colours of the shoot so all the details and settings were based on this colour scheme. The cakes were white so we added red details such as red macarons, red apples and DIY apple candles. I even dyed the model’s hair myself and turned her from a blonde to a brunette with a red tinge.
I'd like to describe my photographic style as natural, simple, beautiful and unique. I use nature as much as possible, working mainly outdoors with the simplicity of natural light. This shoot was done at the golden hour just before sunset time to give the images are warm glow. The forest and woods add the rusty, wilderness feel to this shoot. I love capturing real emotions such as joy by getting that beautiful smile/laugh of my subject which my sweet model made very easy. I did minimal retouching to keep the style natural. My specialty are close ups since I believe every bride is beautiful and so I always include some soft close ups. Finally I love the pretty details of the wedding day so I included food , stationery, accessories to bring the shoot alive.
