Board#230: Ferns & Mojitos

So this week has been one of sitting in traffic, trying to find a carpark, wading through the people in the mall in the search for the perfect presents!! Actually it really hasn't been all that bad. I've spent less time at my computer in the past few days than I have in months and months, and I plan to continue along that merry road for a bit. At this time of year burn out hits, so some time out is needed!! Finally finally yesterday I got our tree up - yep the house smells of lovely delicious pine  - and put a few Christmassy touches around the place. I may.... just may, get in the kitchen and do a bit of Christmas baking yet (problem I have with that is that I want to eat it all before I give it out!)

This board just has a hint of Christmas in it to allude to what's all around us right now. Although if you're sitting in snow reading this (ok not literally :-) it probably looks quite foreign to you, and oddly enough even though I've grown up with Christmas in the summer, I still think it should be all cozy in the snow!! Right now it's very sticky and humid here, so a world away from the lovely winter scenes that I have filling up my Instagram feed these days!

Rustic Barn Wedding by Ryan Ray

You may have seen this wedding over on Green Wedding Shoes a few months back, but it's just so perfect I had to reshare! And besides any excuse to feature Ryan Ray's work right? It seems that there's been a bit of a shift away from rustic weddings over the past six months, but I for one will never tire of them. I just love all the natural woodsy details... they're very much me! And this wedding really is a treasure... I mean the grooms outfits in the lovely warm autumn tones... and the tweed... LOVE!! And what else... the bridesmaids; beautiful! The brides shoes are adorable... and really the list goes on. Pure fabulousness. If you want to read more about their day head over to Green Wedding Shoes.

Planted with Light shoot by Kate Robinson

I was thrilled to be a part of the Planted with Light workshop that the very lovely Kate Robinson held recently. I gave a brief chat about blogging (something I was VERY nervous about doing!!), and then styled a shoot for the participants to learn how Kate goes about shooting. It was such a fun day, both for the girls who attended... and learnt so much from Kate, and for us vendors who helped out. Kate's family were incredibly accommodating having us all out to their lovely place in the country and then supplying us with delicious food all day!! We had the gorgeous Claire Mossong and her hubby Alex model for us for the day (a side career to photography beckoning perhaps?) and Steph from Bubblerock was there to capture the day... be sure to check out this film before you scroll down.

New South Wales Vineyard wedding by Christine Pobke

Pete and Siobhan were high school sweethearts, having met in a Business Studies class at the age of 16. Ten years later they celebrated their wedding at the gorgeous Margan Family Wines in New South Wales, Australia with the lovely Christine Pobke (who's due to have her bubba any moment now!!).

The weather had been touch-and-go in the week prior to the wedding. On the day itself, clouds loomed ominously but an hour before the ceremony they gave way to brilliant sunshine and the wedding came off without a hitch. Siobhan and Pete tried to personalise their day as much as possible, from the handmade wooden directional signs at the front of the venue, to the ceremony program fans and signature cocktails. They handmade favours for their guests - the ladies received pocket mirrors featuring a rose pattern and the gentlemen each received a pair of cufflinks with their initials. A photo booth, complete with props, was also available for the guests, with one copy of each photo pasted into Siobhan and Pete’s guestbook with a message. The photo booth was a real hit, with the photos getting crazier and crazier as the night went on! The couple really enjoyed choosing, and working on all the details and loved seeing them come together on the day.

Board#188: Natural Goodness

How has your week been? I'm so looking forward to the weekend, a bit of downtime, someone else to occupy Charlie hopefully, and to be honest quite a bit of work on the cards!!! It's Mother's day this weekend too... does anyone have anything special planned? I keen hinting that it should be puppy mummy's day too? Let's see if that got through!! I'd kill for a lovely pampering session right about now!
So we're making progress with Charlie... although unfortunately she's also making progress with us!! Yesterday was the second day after leaving her in her pen outside for an hour or so while I was out, that I drove home to have her greet me at my car!!! God only know's how long she'd been wandering around the local properties for, and we have horses literally 30 meters from our house so that would have been an interesting site to see. I've seen them have a bit of a stand off so I'm hoping she doesn't have the guts to approach them! She's outwitting us so we're going to have to be a bit more clever about it... dang us for having such an intelligent puppy :-)
How lovely and serene is this board? Makes me happy that's for sure! Enjoy the rest of your week folks! xo

Board#184: Peonies & Pickups

I don't know about you but I have such a thing for pickup trucks... you've probably figured out by now that I'm quite the rustic girl at heart, so anything like this really floats my boat! I'd love one parked in a corner of my property... preferably with a mass of pretty blooms in buckets as a permanent fixture too!! (Not sure what the hubs would have to say about that however :-).
Right I'm off to take Charlie to the beach to make the most of this amazing autumn weather we're having!! Have a fabulous day xo

Holland Ranch wedding by Jen Rodriguez

Happy Anniversary day to my Auckland readers... let's hope the sun comes out to play as once again it let us down a little over the weekend didn't it? Sadly mu hubs has to work on this holiday but I am heading out for brunch with the {MAG}rouge team which is always a good way to start the day, and then hopefully spending the afternoon in the sun! We're kick starting the week with another feature from Issue One of {MAG}rouge. This prettiest of pretty weddings is from Jen Rodriguez. Holland Ranch looks like such a lovely venue and I think Kerry & Joe have done a superb job of the decor to compliment the natural scenery around them. You can see more details from this wedding in {MAG}rouge. Have a lovely day!
