Board#217: Spring Sage

Sadly we can't quite be celebrating spring around here yet but any day now surely (yes there is more than a hint of begging in that sentence!!). Doesn't this make for the most serene colour palette for your wedding? I can see this being used across a broad range of wedding styles; from a beach wedding to a vineyard wedding, and even a more modern industrial theme. The white flowers en masse are just sensational!!
I'm taking the day off to spend with my 10 year old niece whilst it's school holidays so we'll be off having fun and exploring with Charlie somewhere!!

Style Files: DuskSteelSage

To go with yesterday's Peonies & Pickups Inspiration board... Aren't these muted pastel tones just gorgeous together? Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

Board#177: Ruby & Sage

I love the contrast between these soft sage greens with just a pop of red throughout. Use a touch of it throughout your flowers, pop some red heels under your dress, sprinkle red text throughout your stationery. I think the key is not to overdo it, just keep it to a handful of elements.

Check back in later for a very exciting giveaway!!

Board#169: A Sage Romance

An earthy yet pretty palette don't you think? There are so many colours that can be paired with sage green, but I'll always love it with rustic neutrals. It's such a versatile colour scheme, working for a vineyard wedding as much as a ballroom setting.

Board#155: Garden Soiree

So I need your opinions on a colour decision I'm trying to make! Head over to my facebook page and leave a comment letting me know which option you like... I'd appreciate it ever so much :-)
I quite fancy myself a little garden soiree like this. I love this dirty olive green with the softness of the pink and I especially love that gorgeous floppy sunhat... a must have for the upcoming summer I think! I think jugs of Pimms and croquet on the lawn are a must to go with this little shindig!

Board#132: Dapper Delight

This is another of those boards that I stared at for hours (ok well not hours but it truly felt like it) trying to draw something out of it for the name... and with the husband away my back up was gone! So the name comes from the straw boater hat which I always think of as being very dapper! Naff right? Anyway probably best to focus on the pretty images not the name :-)

Board#116: Appalachian Trail

OK right off the bat I have to let you know that the name of this board is possibly the most random I've ever used!! I was really struggling to come up with a name so I dragged the husband into the game (he's not bad... he's named several of my invites!), and we brainstormed for 10 minutes coming up with some ridiculously laughable names, and then he decided it looked like what he thought the Appalachians look like (despite never having been there... but now after googling it we really want to!). Anyhoo that's how this board got it's name so I apologise for those of you who know this area if this is way off the mark... can we please just go with it for today :-) And anyway surely the prettiness makes up for the name?

Board#109: Sage & Apricot

Morning kids!!! How's your week going? Mine has been trucking along very nicely thanks :-) I've been working on a little project for the business for some time now, and there have been a few ups and downs and roundabouts but it all fell ever so nicely into place yesterday so today I'm a happy chappy! I know that's a bit of a tease but all will be revealed in good time! (sorry I actually hate it when people do that but I couldn't help myself!) We also had a very welcome day of rain yesterday which was such a reprieve from the sticky heat we've had... and saved some time watering the garden last night which was a nice change! So onto today's board... I love the combo of a sage green with an almost dirty apricot.. both quite muted shades but so so pretty. Those books tied up with a touch of moss just make me happy!! I'd quite happily display that in my home!

Board#104: A Country Cottage

I love the idea of taking myself away from it all and ensconcing myself in a little cabin for a few days, and hey if it was decorated in a shabby chic manor like this, then all the better! And preferably on the shores of a nice warm lake. No internet, no phone, just books, magazines, yummy food and a hubby whose hand to hold on walks through the forest, cause yeh there would be a forest too... and kayaks to float on the lake with. Ok I'm getting carried away now!! But really how pretty a wedding would this make, washed out pinks and sage greens with a punch of a stronger candy pink, and especially if you could have gorgeous vintage china like this here example here. I think I'd pair it with think luscious ivory hydrangeas en masse as well, combined with gardenia for their sweet scent.

Check back in later today for what might be my favourite TuesdayShoesday outfit to date!!

Board#93: Cranberry & Apricot

Well I promised a wee while back some more summery boards so here we have it! Isn't this just the prettiest combination? I know peach/apricot combined with red isn't a combo you would instantly think of but the apricot really softens the red and well it's just so girly and yummy!! This week is just flying, I seriously cannot believe it's the first of December today. I hope all your Christmas preparations are coming along better than mine... I so want to be organised but with my work load but I'm fearing it'll be a last minute thing once again. We're hosting the family at our place this year and I'd like to have it all worked out at least a few days prior to the big 25!!

Board#89: A Serene Scene

Morning lovely people! Did you all have a nice weekend? Well our new house and bigger entertaining area got put to good use over the weekend with friends and family for dinner both nights. I managed to transition a few more draws from their chaotic 'lets just get everything behind closed doors' state to a more organised orderly fashion in which we can now find things easily (which pleases my tidy freak of a husband ever so :-) - I know right, it's a good thing, the tidy freakness?? Slowly slowly we're getting there. Still working on the office but just can't work out how I want it!!
Looking back over the last few boards I realised they had all been very autumn/fall like or neutral/rustic with lots of orange so I thought it was about time I threw something new into the mix. Today's board is all about a lovely serene beach or perhaps garden wedding, using a palette of muted sage green and a range of warm greys and slate blues. I love the freshness of it, so clean and crisp. I almost feel like it should be for an early morning wedding to take advantage of the new days light. Has anyone ever done that... dawn nuptials? Now that would be different (although not sure that the makeup artist would like that start so yeh perhaps not so practical!!)
Hope your week gets off to a good start!!

Board#85: Lemonade & Sunshine

Good monday morning!! It's might be labour day here but did you really think I'd leave you without a post? Surely not! Don't want to miss a day with you all :-) even if I am lying out in the sun as you read this. Rest assured today's post was done several days ago and I will indeed be taking the day off. I will most likely be knee deep in boxes by now... let's hope so anyway. Packing isn't exactly a fun part of moving but I'm getting so excited to get in the new house that I just want to get into it. Since the sun is going to be out in full force this week today's board is all about sweet sunshine! Pretty pale yellows with sage greens. Enjoy your day off where ever you may be, rain or shine!!

Board#82: Organic Outdoors

Morning folks. Was anyone else as fixated to the Chilean Miners rescue last night? Shows us just how great the human spirit is doesn't it? I have to admit I was in tears more than once!

Now onto more frivolous things... weddings (although obviously still heartfelt and meaningful, I'm just talking about the pretties!) This outdoor ceremony under the big (oak?) tree with wine barrels at the end of the aisle is my idea of the perfect outdoor ceremony. Sun slowing setting, evening birdsong, perhaps an acoustic guitar accompanying your walk down the aisle... ahh, bliss!

Board#20: Country Charm

Happy Tuesday.....hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend.....I was positively euphoric to wake up to streaming sunshine on Saturday!! Mmmm we're back to rain right now, but it was glorious while it lasted!

This board evolved into something completely different to what I originally had in mind, but I think I prefer it! A little bit vintage, a little bit rustic and a lot pretty..... my kind of wedding. Outdoors, long banquet tables, handpicked posies, vintage china.....I'm particularly fond of the beautiful shell coloured glass with the silver cake stand - such a lovely and delicate combination. Would love to do an invitation suite in it. Anyone?
