Amalia's diary

We're delighted to have one of our Magnolia Rouge brides kindly share her journey with us on our blog. Amalia is getting married in Auckland next February and she's just returned to Melbourne after a whirlwind week of wedding planning which saw us all tie a lot of things down. Read on to share in her excitement and check back later today when we post her custom inspiration board.

From Amalia:

Today I had the great excitement of seeing before me, in colour, my own imaginings of how our wedding will be! We’ve only been engaged for two months but already I see the flavour of the day coming to life, thanks to Magnolia Rouge and the mood board they have made for us. The other day Gayle, Sue and Kate met with me at the venue we’ve chosen and chatted through how we want the day to feel: from the flowers to the table settings to the seating chart. Then a couple of days later I am able to see the mood we discussed through a collection of gorgeous pictures that have inspired me and made me even more impatient for the day to arrive!

My fiancĂ© is Sri Lankan by birth, and we met while both working in the Solomon Islands, so vivid colour and tropical blooms are a key theme, as is the warmth of candle light through coloured lanterns hanging from trees! I thought I had some good ideas but was even more excited by the ones Gayle, Sue and Kate came up with. Their attention to detail and experience means I now feel totally relaxed and secure because I know the feel we want – warmth, family, tropical, exotic – is perfectly represented in the mood board we will use as the style guide going forward. Now all I need to do is enjoy being engaged and imagining our fabulous day because I know the details of planning are in control.

One of the other great things is that because we are organising this from Melbourne, we don’t know where to go for all things wedding. All I need to do when talking to the three of them though, is mention something we’ve been thinking about, like the cars for example, and there are immediately options and suggestion at hand. It’s made everything stress free and exciting, which is all it should be!

I absolutely can’t wait for the next part of the arrangements!

Your inspiration board looks fabulous Amalia! I can see there is going to be a wonderful Sri-Lankan look and feel to the day. How great that I can follow your wedding plans and get ideas for your photography via this blog! xx Di
