How did you meet?
Bit cheesy really, at a night-club in Auckland, eyes met across the room in some kind of crazy magnetism...we were second year uni students and pretty taken with each other.
Tell us about your proposal:
It was a plan B proposal! Brad had planned to take me to Bruge for the weekend but there was a fire on the Eurostar and all trains were cancelled! A sign?! Both adamant that we were away getting away for the weekend nonetheless, we ended up at a boutique country Estate in Buckinghamshire – Stoke Place. In Plan B mode Brad whipped me away from our afternoon tea for a stroll around a stunning lake on the property and popped the question on bended knee with a wax ring he’d sculptured as a place holder for the real thing (we we later designed and collected it on a trip to South Africa). The Estate had rolled out the champagne by the time we got back from the Lake.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress:
I fell in love with my dress... in the end. It was a wildcard that I discovered during my friend’s wedding dress fitting! Never thought I would go lace, but when I put that dress on for the first time it was just so beautiful to wear, and perfect for a February wedding. I like that it offers an elegant and timeless silhouette but the low back gives a contemporary edge. The style is aptly named ‘Summertime’ from London-based couture designer, Phillipa Lepley. It was made-to-measure (after the sample I tried on sold two weeks before I decided to buy it!) which was an unbelievable once in a life-time experience that every girl should try (if you don’t mind scraping the piggy bank.).
Back with more delectables soon...
