What was the inspiration for your wedding?
I am a very girly girl but I also share my Husbands passion for the outdoors. So we tried to combine the two elements in the style of our wedding. We got married in Kerikeri a very special place to us. We had a beautiful ceremony at the St James Anglican Church perched on Stone Store Hill, followed by a garden reception under a marquee at my Aunty and Uncle’s property. The gorgeous natural setting of their property combined with the soft pink roses, candyfloss lanterns, antique china and heart shaped chocolate favours helped to combine our two styles.
Describe your wedding flowers:
My bouquet was made up of fresh soft pink and cream roses and gorgeous cream lisianthas. The bridesmaid’s bouquets, a smaller version of mine, were wrapped in soft white silk that matched the silk of my gown. My bouquet was distinguished from the bridesmaids by several long strings of pearls that hang down at varying lengths.
Favourite detail of the day?
There were so many details about our special day that I loved. My top five would be:
-our personal vows we wrote for each other
-our close friend singing Cole Porter’s ‘True Love’ at the ceremony
-the stunning floral arrangements at the church and reception, put together by the very talented Wendy of Putts Green Florist
-dancing under a starlit night in the arms of my new husband
-listening to the beautiful voices of my best friends who wrote and performed a song specially for us at the reception
