Real Wedding: Emma + Brett

Whilst the weather is slowly becoming cooler and we've actually had a spot of rain this week, I'm holding onto summer with the yellow tones in this sweet wedding sent in by Nicole Marsden. I was delighted to find out that the bride - Emma - found Nicole through Magnolia Rouge which is truly music to my ears!! Emma and Brett got married in a marquee in the garden of her old school and with help from their nearest and dearest they managed to DIY a lot of details. From local gardens supplying the gorgeous blooms to the wedding cake made by Emma's mother, stationery printed by her father, it was an all out family affair. Emma tells us more of their story below... (and top marks Brett for a very romantic proposal!)

How did you meet?
We met in Napier. I was on a girls weekend up from Wellington and Brett lived in Napier. This lead to 2 years of commuting between the 2 cities....must have been true love!
Tell us about your proposal:
It started with a ‘surprise trip’ organised by Brett under the guise of my birthday while we were living in London. It wasn’t until we were at the airport that that I found out we were going to the Maldives!
Brett had arranged a private boat to take us to a deserted island where a pre-prepared picnic & drinks had been set up. It was here that Brett got down on one knew and asked me to marry him.
After being delivered back to our atoll, Brett had organised a spa package including body wraps, massages and a balcony bath filled with rose petals, where we celebrated while sipping champagne and watching the sun set. The perfect day ended with a candlelight dinner on the beach. An amazing day.
