Real Wedding: Emma + Brett Part II

We're back with more of this lovely wedding by Nicole Marsden. How gorgeous are those steps with the pond and fountain in the middle? Reminds me of some of the old castles in the UK. And those little jars are honey are so cute!!

Tell us about finding your wedding dress:
I knew I wanted a full lace gown to complement the ‘oldie world’ style we were looking to achieve. However, the cost of such a dress meant I had to search literally to the end of the earth! I eventually found my dream dress in Spain where I had it made & sent to London for my collection. The wait was definitely worth it as my gown had 8 petticoats and a full overdress of Spanish appliquéd lace. I knew it was the one when my Mum travelled to London & burst into tears when I put it on.

What was the inspiration for your wedding?

Above all we wanted a day that reflected who we are and to have a ‘happy, light, romantic’ feel to our day. Our colour theme of butter yellow was perfect and wove through every aspect from our floral invitations to the bridesmaid dresses and the ties for the groomsmen. I love vintage chic so had plenty of quirky elements to the wedding such as antique clips for the girls hair, yellow gingham jam jars for guests and even a charming candy jar filled to the brim with sweets!
Describe your wedding flowers:

Romantic & Vintage. The bridal posy was hand tied with roses, mini-spray carnations, hydrangeas and lisianthus, all soft white and with lace-like petals. With a similar spray incorporated into my hair. The bridesmaids had the same mix (in lemon colours) in a garden posy tied with knee length ribbon to match their dresses. The Grooms party had stylish yellow rose buttonholes accepted with green hypericum berries.
Our marquee had fantastic table centrepieces using large tins we had collected, covered in rosemary & tied with raffia then filled with rustic country flowers.
