Real Wedding: Adel + Lombard II

We're back with more of this gorgeous South African Wedding by Nikki Meyer. For part one and to see the brides grand entrance on horseback click here. It's interesting seeing the different flora used in weddings from other countries. Whilst we have Protea's in New Zealand, you don't often see them used in wedding flowers yet as a single bloom they're quite stunning. There are several different varieties but I have to say I love the sculptural look of these King Proteas....kind of reminds me of an artichoke as well. Adel's gorgeous dress is by Didi Couture.
Adel the bride shares some details with us...

What was the inspiration for your wedding?
We wanted a celebration of love, life and the future together and the beach with all the elements was the perfect spot.
Any DIY/Budget elements?

Our focus was on good food and creating a celebrating atmosphere (good music and free drinks!) décor detail was kept to the minimum and left to the natural feel of the venue to fill the gaps.

Describe your wedding flowers:

Personally massive bunches of wedding flowers that will day the next day is depressing. Therefore I opt for small bunches of flowers on the tables. The bridal flowers were one massive king protea with roses and the bridesmaids each had a smaller version. It was a bit of a shock to get my flower bill and it was R 18 000! Luckily it was a typo, the assistant missed one zero! Therefore only R 1800.

Favourite detail of the day:
The black stallion! Initially I was seriously intimidated by this horse but on the day we totally connected and he gave everything and more to start the ceremony on a exhilarating note!
