Old Hollywood Glamour meets South Island NZ Part II

Today's gorgeous wedding from Fiona Andersen, is a lovely combination of old school glamour and timeless elegance. Thank you so much to Kirsten and Tim for letting me share their wedding on here.... I'll leave you with a few words from the gorgeous bride...

I absolutely loved the dress shopping part! The first stop was Auckland, where in two shops only I tried on about 25 different dresses with my mother and my sister playing the parts of chief critiques. Second stop was Christchurch where again I tried on a multitude of dresses in two shops. There were two dresses that I loved, both from Robyn Cliffe, one being a Robyn Cliffe design (previously unreleased) which the wonderful ladies from Robyn Cliffe brought down from their work room for me to try on, and the other a Pronovias dress which after much deliberation I finally settled on. The dress was then altered to fit me and I was absolutely thrilled with the final result.

My favourite detail of the day: It’s really hard to pick one because I was so pleased with everything! My top picks would be my red lipstick, the gorgeous antique brooch looking hairpieces that the team at Robyn Cliffe made for my bridesmaids (and one for me after I took off my veil), the table runners (laboriously made by my mum and sister in law), and the huge silver candelabra with crystals draped over them.

Get a great friend on board to help you co-ordinate - Tamara was amazing, everyone should have a Tamara. Take help from your family members – ours helped build the marquee on a boiling hot day, helped to set up the marquee, made the runners, were our ring bearers, ran around on the day before, the day of and the day after and did little jobs that we had forgotten to do but really needed done, ferried gear from place to place, did readings, were ushers , MC’s and Drivers, and came to the party financially…the list goes on, they were amazing! You should also have fabulous bridesmaids, mine were the best! And one last thing, go for a Salon that you know – I trusted my hair stylist and make up artist implicitly (Shine Salon) and they did an amazing job and went out of their way to make the whole experience perfect for us.
