Carolyn provided me with what was probably one of my most challenging jobs to date. In the interest of full disclosure I would call myself a designer (to be perfectly honest sometimes I struggle even with that since I'm not 'trained' as such), I am unfortunately NOT an illustrator. Trust me, I wish I were and I have such admiration for people who create amazing illustrations. Alas I just put them together and combine them in a way that I and hopefully the client likes! Anyhoo... Carolyn wanted a vintage style postcard for her Save the Date which I was very excited about doing, however for a location like New York or Sydney or any big city it's not too bad as there's a tonne of imagery out there. For the little seaside town of Kiama in Australia... not so much. And when she said she wanted to feature the famous water spout that the town is known for, I thought perhaps this was one for the 'professionals'!! (ie; illustrators) However after perseverance I did manage to draw that water spout and came up with a design that I'm actually rather proud of and think the end result is very cute! We're going in a completely different direction with the invitation suite so this was definitely a fun departure.
Check back in shortly for a fab winter shoot in deep snowy Lithuania!!

Great job, Kate! Very cute!
Well done, Kate! You are a true professional... The type who is too humble to ever realize it. :) Work is fun only when we consistently stretch our thinking muscles and strive to learn something from everything we do.
Oh boy, I would be so excited to receive one of those in my letter box! You've done a stellar job. Love to colours
