Whimsical Encore Shoot from A Couple of Night Owls

Hey there!! So I'm back from my little mini break, rearing to get back into Ruby & Willow and start planning the next issue of {MAG}rouge. In fact I believe our cover shoot is actually taking place today (at an undisclosed location somewhere in the world - hehe!!) which already puts us much further ahead than on previous issues! Looking forward to NOT working almost 48 hours straight before we launch issue 3!! We had a wonderful few days away in the South Island... ate and drank far far too much, but we don't often indulge like that so I think we can be forgiven. And of course had to fit in some much needed afternoon naps! It was so utterly incredibly down there, it's been a while since I've been that way and I'd forgotten how truly awe inspiring the scenery is. So good for the soul! We're kick starting the week with one of the sweetest shoots you'll see, from relative newcomers to the wedding scene, A Couple of Night Owls.

From A Couple of Night Owls... When Amanda + Jeremy told us they never got to have any proper engagement photos before they were married, we were delighted to be able to give them the “encore” shoot they always deserved as part of our inspiration concept.

We went the extra mile styling and planning this one, with a bit of DIY going on. We visited Raglan 3 times prior to do location scouting so we could give them a collection of photos they would never forget. Planning and organizing was a pretty intense 3 week production leading up to the 2 day shoot, but it was totally worth it as we couldn’t be happier with the photos and the schedule was so well planned we even got to have a couple of hours off in the afternoon to enjoy the gorgeous weather Raglan put on for us. We were worried the day before driving down from Auckland as it was raining and the forecast was not good, but as you’ll see below Raglan is dream on a beautiful day. Amanda + Jeremy were stunning to shoot and were an absolute dream to work with!

Danelle and Hook from A Couple of Night Owls completely styled this "engagement style" shoot for us. It was AMAZING to be a part of and way more thought out and carefully planned than we ever could have imagined. J and I have actually been married for years, but we never got engagement photos back in the day and better late than never to have some special images of us together.

We spent two days at the beach running around in pretty clothes, enjoying incredible scenery and creating some really special memories. It was such an amazing thing to be a part of and we are beyond stoked with the results."
