Real Wedding: Sonya + Nick Part II

Ooooh I am a lot in love with this wedding from Kate MacPherson! It has the perfect combination of style and elegance and simplicity. And it just looks like such a serene wedding! If you missed the first feature on Sonya & Nick's day check it out here. Set in the beautiful central Otago region of the South Island at The Winehouse & Kitchen, they infused their day with personal touches. Sonya and her bridesmaids even did all the flowers for the church herself.
Some other DIY touches they had:
We made our own invitations based on antique maps of the area and a favourite vintage teacup, I collected old teacups and little bottles for the table decorations and made fabric flowers for our hair and dresses. A friend lent me her veil as my something borrowed. We thought about a DJ or band, but in the end simply ran music off a laptop and asked family and friends for songs that would get them up and dancing – it worked a treat!
Describe your wedding flowers:
Hydrangeas, Succulents, lizianthus and cream roses by Jenny Clark from Studio 24 in Wanaka. The flowers were beautiful, and single flowers (rather than big arrangements) on the table helped us keep within budget. The bridesmaids and I did the flowers for the church and hydrangeas in a traditional florists buckets were just right for our simple church.
Favourite detail of the day:
Hard to choose, but the afternoon sun, and the faces of our friends and family looking back at us on the day, things felt completely right.

Back soon with some of the lovely details....
