Real Wedding: Sonya + Nick Part III

Those who know me well, know how much I adore anything remotely rustic, so these photos of Sonya & Nick's wedding by Kate MacPherson are right up my alley. The contrast of pretty, pretty flowers (by Studio 24) and shoes against the stone and wood....perfection! Another lovely touch to their day....the inclusion of their grandparents wedding photos as table cards. As they had passed away it was a sweet way to have them be a part of the day and made it all the more special. Read on for some valuable advice from the bride...

What advise would you give out to someone planning their wedding?
Start early, decide what is important to you, and don’t skimp on those things. For us there were three things we wanted to get just right… the food the dress and photographer, other details we felt we could compromise on as we needed to. In particular we chose a great photographer – we were so delighted with Kate's fantastic photos!
Most memorable moment?
The day really felt like our wedding. It was woven with details like Nicks brother James earnestly reading the lyrics from The Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News as a reading in the church, to an impassioned Uncle Colin addressing the Haggis, Sons nieces and nephews getting their pep talk before walking up the aisle, and dance floor lifts at the end of the night.
What’s next for you as a couple?
Baby Burgess is due in May!! And we are beginning our home renovation journey.
Anything other details that help tell the story of your day?
The afternoon sun cast a soft light and we came back from our photo session to our families drinking rose and champagne in the garden and playing croquet while Jazz drifted out across the valley. I don’t think I stopped smiling or laughing that day.
