I recently had the pleasure of working with the very sweet Jo on her wedding stationery. Jo and Kevin are heading to China to get married later this year followed by a reception in Melbourne, and she had such a lovely story behind the inspiration for her invitation (you can read their story over on The Knotty Bride here). Combining a vintage lace motif with a subtle repeating floral pattern, the design featured a dragonfly and butterfly to represent Jo & Kevin and their story. It was also very important according to Chinese legend that they be flying to the north east corner with the butterfly doing the chasing! Both the invitation and postcard were printed double sided and finished off with a sweet punched out corner shape, and matching printed envelopes. Thanks Jo for being such a sweetheart to work with!!

Just thinking of their incredible story makes me tear up-what an amazing couple, and a fittingly beautiful suite!
Oh, how appropriate for me today to see this invitation on your blog. It reminds me of Robin's sister who we miss a lot and we use to call 'butterfly'... "Love is like the wind, you can not see it... but you can feel it." - it resonates so much with me today.
I strongly adore these!
What a beautiful story behind their stationary. Just beautiful. And I adore the background you've used.

Oh Kate you did an amazing job for an amazing couple! I LOVE the fact that there were specifics ~ butterfly chasing the dragonfly and heading NE ~ that just shows it really means something to them ;-)))
