Plantable Favours

I've always loved the idea of giving favours at weddings, I think for me it was another creative thing I could do and it's nice to give your guests a little thank you for coming to share your day with you. It doesn't always have to be something overly expensive. I made coconut ice and wrapped it in cute packaging and it added to the table decor as well. So it'll come as no surprise to you that I loved these adorable plantable favours from Jan & Chase of Green Tree Photography. They attended a recent bridal show and made these to give out to their brides. The little sachets are filled with Bachelors Buttons (also know as cornflowers) which grow anywhere and are so so pretty! I love the Irish blessing too! Jan tells us more about them below...

'I bought the sachet’s from Michaels, and attached an Irish blessing to it on linen cardstock purchased at Hobby Lobby. Having Irish in my family, it went well! The blessing says "May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day. May songbirds serenade you every step along the way. May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that's always blue. And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.” The flowers were given to me by a dear friend who appreciates nature and beauty around him. They were his mothers, and he shares them with people he cares about. I gave them out to our brides and encouraged them to plant the seeds after their vows as a symbol of their love growing and flourishing into a beautiful vibrant flower. Love starts out as a small seed, and will blossom into something wonderful!'
Don't you think a plantable favour is just the sweetest idea? Thanks for sharing Jan!!

Favour labels

As an add on to today's earlier post here are some of the favour labels we have to match our Signature Collection designs. Such a small addition can really make your table go from bland to beautiful without breaking the bank!

Favour fancy

The tradition of handing out wedding favours is one that goes back centuries, and today it's becoming a big part of the reception planning. Whilst the 5 almonds (representing health, wealth, happiness, fertility and long life) used to be a standard offering and is still followed, these days there is no limit to the options available; from tree saplings and coffee beans, to personalised cd's and crystal glasses.
It is seen as a token of appreciation to your guests, and gratitude for their love and support. Whilst by no means an essential item on the wedding planning list, they are becoming more popular and it's a fun way to add a creative and personal element to your wedding decor. Most favours are placed at each place setting, so they're designed to match the stationery and flowers on the table. Others may be displayed enmasse at a favour table, again adding another visual element.
Many favours are 'themed' around the tone of the wedding and can range from the most practical to the most frivolous. Many brides choose to put considerable time into them and make their own or enlist the help of their bridesmaids! Below is a selection of some novel ideas that we love! The packaging options are endless......makes my fingers itch just thinking about the things I could do!
