Christmas Gift Guide | Teal, Citron & Cobalt
Just looking at this colour palette has given me a thirst for a refreshing cocktail... the kind you get when you're sitting poolside, weary after a day of lounging and dipping in and out of the pool. Oh that sounds like heaven right now!!

Board#189: Spring Fling
Ahh Spring... it's anything but spring like out doors right now, and whilst it's months of coldness away for us in the Southern Hemisphere I'm already dreaming of it! And what better way with a fresh kelly green and aqua colour palette. What colours get you in the mood for spring?

A colour story - Red, Pink & Teal
Annnnnnd we're back!! Sorry things have been a little quiet around here... fallout from the magazine release you could call it!! And a wee thing called Charlie that came into our lives last week. If you follow me on Instagram (rubywillow) or Facebook you've probably seen this gorgeous gal over the past few days and you might want to be prepared for an onslaught of puppy pics!! We've spent the weekend getting to know her, lots of playing, lots of cuddling, and getting in on the training early!! Mostly she's been very good... except for getting hyperactive last night and knocking over a freshly made cup of herbal tea... thankfully not on herself! But after 10 minutes of whining she made it through the whole night without much of a whimper so I'm very proud of her!! Today will be interesting thought as it's a miserable rainy day and of course we can't go and frolic on the lawn so indoor games it is!
I wanted to share with you the colour story from our recent issue that I worked on. For this one I set up a little dinner for two in my back yard. I absolutely love doing these and if time allowed I'd do one once a week, but they're always far more time consuming that I estimate them to be! But I do have fun with them. And of course I just love the colours in this one! And those mints were so good... confession: I went through about three packets before I eventually did the shoot!! Addictive!

Sneak Peek and Sponsors...
Morning all... and a happy weekend to you!! I want to end the week by saying a HUGE thank you to all my new readers. The past couple of weeks the readership has increased hugely so thank you, thank you for coming along and checking out my goings on (and of course all the beautiful work from so many talented people!!). I appreciate it very much!!
I was going to post this shoot last week but it's been 'elevated' to the magazine :-) so for now just a peek of my colour story... and a bright and cherry one at that! And yep here I go again with the red (I must be in denial!!). Also just a note about sponsors... I've been asked many times over the past year or more about accepting sponsors/advertisers and I just haven't gone there as yet, however I do have plans to in the coming months, so if you are interested please shoot me a mail. Otherwise I will announce it on here once I've had time to sort a few things out with the blog. (I know I seriously need a search button on here!!). Have a wonderful weekend everyone. K xo

A colour story - Emerald, Teal & Yellow
A few months ago I started having a play around styling various props I had with my stationery, and photographing colour stories of them... just experimenting for the magazine and myself I guess. And really just having fun with it. I absolutely love doing this and hope to find the time to do a lot more in the future. Would love to know your thoughts on this... do you think this should become a regular series? Does this inspire you for your wedding at all? Or just in general? Feedback is always welcome :-) It helps me learn!!

Pretty pink & teal...
Remember earlier in the week when I said I wanted to pick pretty flowers from my garden? Well I don't have that many flowers yet but I do have this little tree which is chocka block full of these amazing pink blooms. It's soooo pretty I just had to chop a branch off and take a few photos!! It may not smell like the sweet flowers I wanted but it certainly looks just as good! I hope you have an inspiring weekend xo

Board#106: My Sweet Clementine
Happy Monday kids!! Did you have a fabulous weekend? Oh isn't this board just summer all over!! I can almost taste the sweetness of the mandarins/clementines (whatever we're calling them these days!). Delicious!! And that plaid tie is just awesome right? How many of you could convince your man to wear plaid? I fear I would get an emphatic no :-)

Board#103: Birch & Birds Eggs
Do these colours get you guys as excited as they do me? It's just so rich and warm and inviting, it totally draws me in! I am crazy over those birch logs used as escort card holders... unfortunately we don't get a lot of birch around these parts... if we did I'd be using it for all sorts of home decor ideas. What do you think... is this a colour combo you'd go with for your wedding?

Board#98: Christmas Candy
You knew I was going to milk this one didn't you? Surely!! Whilst the shoot that Simply Bloom did was for winter inspiration I think these colours work pretty well for a summery Christmas... the kind we have downunder if the weather is kind to us. This week has been almost unbearable hot and sticky so who knows what we're in for Christmas day? The lead up to the holiday season has been quite frantic for me and I'm making a promise to myself next year to learn to say NO, and to set a far earlier cut off date for jobs... as it inevitably goes past whatever I set. Being this busy I'm afraid to say has taken a lot of the fun and excitement out of the season and I'm am less prepared than I've ever been! So today with the majority of jobs out the door, I'm hanging with my 8 yr old niece... she's going to be my helper... and perhaps I'll finally get a tree and some decorations up... and perhaps even buy a present or two... and baking...well that would be nice but possibly wishful thinking! Friday will be food shopping and sorting food out. Posting will be light over the next few weeks but there will be little snippets here and there, and I have one more Christmas wish list to share with you tomorrow. Right now my main Christmas wish is sleep... lots of it!!

What's your wedding style X
Well it's a wet and wild day here today....not pleasant at all for the first week of summer. I hope wherever you are the weather is being a touch kinder to you! Still it doesn't stop us dreaming of lovely summery weddings does it? This colour combo was sparked off as I drove past a clothing store last week with a fabulous teal tulle dress with a cute pink sash around it, and it hit me that it was a fantastic colour way for a wedding. Very fun, whimsical, girly and pretty! Check out previous post in this series here.

What's your wedding style? IX
Woohoo, we've made it through another week! Can you believe Christmas is in 4 weeks? Scary. I haven't given it so much as a passing thought so I can see it's all going to be a bit last minute! And today I'd also like to wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to all our US readers!
So you've gotta love the colours going on in this board right? Opulent and rich and pretty all at once. Would make for a stunning autumn wedding me thinks. Loving the purple with that pop of chartreuse green. If you'd like to see our previous Wedding Style posts click here.

What's your wedding style? VII
Happy Friday everyone.....my lovely husband has booked us into a quaint beachside spot for the weekend with some good friends...very spontaneously I might add so I'm more than a little impressed. It's the only way to stop me working.... physically remove me from my office. It'll be a much needed break, after a fairly non-stop month. I plan to visit the always fabulous Matakana farmers markets, get creative with my camera, stroll the beach in bare feet, and then put them up to read a book (I have to admit to trying to resist reading New Moon before the movie comes out!).
Anyway I digress...this weeks board was inspired by this beautiful wedding by Carrie Patterson. I know I say this every time, but I really do love this colourway. It's honestly one of my faves - of course it includes green so we're all happy!

I've paired with it an assortment of invitations from the Ruby & Willow Signature Collection. Hard to pick my favourite....what's yours?

Board#11: Teal & Black
I am loving this combination, it's so striking. Very crisp and classic, yet modern all at the same time. Use different shades of teal to create depth and texture. I guess you immediately think of the sea when you use this colour but it works so well for an inner city wedding as well.
